How to Store Larger Amounts Properly

While buying a half ounce or full ounce at a time can lead to significant savings, that does you little good if your flower goes bad before you can use it. Keeping your flower fresh means that you can continue to enjoy them to their fullest extent. 

1. Choose the Right Container

When storing cannabis, avoid plastic bags, which aren’t airtight. Instead, keep your cannabis in a glass jar, fully sealed. Separate different strains into their own storage containers and label them properly so that you know what you’re reaching for. 

2. Choose a Cool, Dark, Dry Environment

Do not place your cannabis in the fridge or keep it out on the counter if you want it to stay fresh as long as possible. In many cases, placing it in the fridge can cause moisture to build up. If you try to freeze your flower, it can end up decreasing its potency. Instead, choose an environment like a closet or cabinet, where it will stay cool, dark, and dry until you’re ready to use it. 

3. Protect Against Humidity

Humidity can cause your cannabis to mold or degrade its potency, leaving you dissatisfied with your efforts. Keep your flower in a sealed container in a low-moisture environment, with a goal of maintaining relative humidity of between 55% and 65%.  If needed, use humidity packs to help protect against moisture exposure.
